CA-25 Candidate Jess Phoenix Remembers Columbine

Today, April 20th, 2018 marks the 19th anniversary of the school shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, CO. Jess Phoenix, a candidate for California’s 25th Congressional District, lived in the area at the time. She had friends at Columbine.

On Twitter, Jess took a moment to share her memories of the event. Like too many students who have lost friends and loved ones to gun violence, the Columbine shooting is something Jess will never forget.

Having experienced the impact of gun violence in schools herself, Jess has a strong position on gun violence prevention. She advocates for common-sense gun reforms that will help prevent mass shootings, domestic violence, and suicides. Jess supports:

  • closing background check loopholes,
  • directing the CDC to to study the gun violence epidemic with full funding, and
  • forming a Congressional Select Committee to investigate the causes and solutions to our country’s gun violence problem.

Recently, Jess was a guest on The Young Turks where she also touched on her experience with Columbine.

Learn more about Jess’s position on Gun Violence Prevention on her official CA-25 Candidate page. Jess’s campaign is grassroots, so your shares matter! Be sure to share this post along with her tweets about Columbine. Taking back the House is critical, so your shares and support matters.

Remember to vote in the CA primary on June 5, 2018.
